Webinar: Science Based Targets for Beginners
Do you want to learn what it takes to join Science Based Targets?
The transition to a low-carbon economy is underway and setting emissions reduction targets in line with climate science is continuously gaining attention as being an effective way of meeting the goals set in the Paris Climate Agreement. Through the Science Based Target initiative (SBTi) – which is initiated by Global Compact in collaboration with World Wildlife Fund (WWF), World Resource institute (WRI) and Carbon Disclosure Project (CDP) – companies have the ability to take action in the fight for a future-proof growth by specifying how much and how quickly they need to reduce their greenhouse gas emissions.
Join us for this webinar in which we introduce the initiative and its key concepts, walk through the process of joining and address any concerns associated with joining the initiative. There will be plenty of time of questions and representatives from CDP, Global Compact, and SBTi signatories ready to give qualified answers.
All members of the Nordic Global Compact networks are welcome to join the webinar.
Science Based Targets Peer Learning Group
Global Compact Network Denmark is starting a peer learning group on SBTi, with the goal of providing guidance to companies interested in joining the initiative, sharing best practice and experiences setting climate targets through the initiative, and address significant challenges within specific areas of climate target setting (e.g. scoping, scope 3 target setting, and measurement methodologies).
