Climate Ambition Accelerator

This program prepares your company to measure its greenhouse gas emissions, set ambitious goals for reducing them, and report on progress. Whether your company is advanced in its climate action or just getting started – this is the program for you!

Taking your climate commitments a step further for the benefit of your business and our planet.

Is your company part of the green transition? Do you want to have your climate data and targets ready once investors and customers start asking for them?

Climate Ambition Accelerator will help your company become a climate front-runner no matter where you are on the journey. Through two capacity building tracks (Advanced & Basic) with e-learning, peer-to-peer sessions, and technical Q&As you will become prepared to take your company’s climate action a step further whether you already have a well-defined strategy or if you are new in the field.

The initiative revolves around the Science Based Targets initiative and the three Scopes of the Greenhouse Gas Protocol, and you will get a chance to discuss best practices and challenges with people from other companies – both nationally and internationally – and get direct support from world-leading experts in the field.

Capacity building tracks

SBTi Basic

If you are in the early stages of your company’s climate commitments, this is the track for you.

You will get a thorough introduction to the Greenhouse Gas Protocol’s three Scopes, the basic principles of climate accounting, and how you can commit to the Science Based Targets as an SME (500 employees and below).

The track consists of e-learning modules, peer-to-peer sessions, and technical Q&As, and you get to meet companies similar to yours for discussions on challenges and best practices.

The track has three modules:

Foundations
Learn about the basics when it comes to climate accounting and Science Based Targets methodology.

Business Case
Drive climate change ambition and build internal buy-in.

Implementation
Learn how to manage greenhouse gas emissions and reduction strategies.

Participant profile

You do not need to have a thorough understanding of corporate climate action to participate in this track, but merely a curiosity and willingness to learn.

The main goal is to prepare you to drive climate action in your company.

SBTi Advanced

If your company has already committed to the Science Based Targets initiative or has an advanced climate strategy including climate accounting and long-term goals, this is the track for you.

You will be introduced to the Science Based Targets ‘Net Zero’ methodology, and engage in deep dives on specific topics such as supplier engagement and Scope 3 materiality assessment.

The track consists of e-learning modules, peer-to-peer sessions, and technical Q&As, and you get to meet companies similar to yours for discussions on challenges and best practices.

The track has three modules:

More information about this opportunity will be communicated to all participants.

What is the Science Based Target initiative?

The Science Based Targets (SBTi) is a non-profit initiative which mobilizes companies to set science-based climate targets and boost their competitive advantage in the transition to a low-carbon economy.

The initiative assesses and approves company targets, offers resources, workshops, and guidance, and showcases companies that are part of the initiative.

The initiative has enjoyed considerable success and commitment from companies all over the world reaching well over 900 in the summer of 2020.

So far, over 30 Danish companies have committed to the initiative, most of them also committed to the UN Global Compact.

Science Based Targets is a collaboration between Carbon Disclosure Project (CDP), the United Nations Global Compact (UNGC), World Resources Institute (WRI), and the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF).
