Online kick-off meeting for SBTi working group

Begivenheder
It is our pleasure to invite you to our first online working group meeting on the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi).

The transition to a low-carbon economy is underway and setting emissions reduction targets in line with climate science is continuously gaining attention as being an effective way of meeting the goals set in the Paris Climate Agreement. Through the Science Based Target initiative (SBTi) – which is initiated by Global Compact in collaboration with World Wildlife Fund (WWF), World Resource institute (WRI) and Carbon Disclosure Project (CDP) – companies have the ability to take action in the fight for a future-proof growth by specifying how much and how quickly they need to reduce their greenhouse gas emissions. GCDK is starting a working group on SBTi, with the goal of creating a space to share knowledge on mapping and setting targets emissions, with a specific focus on scope 3 supply chain emissions.

Therefore, we invite all members who have an interest in committing to SBTi, or who have already started the process of setting these targets to our first meeting for a SBTi working group. This meeting will take place online, and is a full-day event, split between presentations and a workshop. We will have an external expert present the SBTi and furthermore, Carlsberg, Novo Nordisk and Novozymes will present the process of getting their targets approved. On this day, we also wish to hear what specific challenges or areas your company finds relevant to be addressed in the working group.

NB: Due to the current outbreak of the coronas virus (covid-19), the meeting will be executed online through Zoom.

We hope that you find this initiative interesting and relevant and would like to digitally participate in the first meeting and the future work with SBTi.
