Webinar: Extraordinary UN meeting for Danish companies on the war in Ukraine
The war in Ukraine continues to worsen, and 3.5 million people have now fled the country. That leaves over 40 million Ukrainians in the midst of war.
The UN Global Compact’s mandate promotes moving “towards global partnerships: a principle-based approach to enhanced cooperation between the United Nations and all relevant partners”. Therefore, Global Compact Network Denmark invites Danish companies to an extraordinary online meeting on the war in Ukraine, where representatives from OCHA, United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs, and UNHCR, United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees, will provide an update to Danish companies on the key needs related to the humanitarian situation in Ukraine as well as the refugee situation in neighboring countries.
We support United Nations’ humanitarian efforts and advice Danish companies to do the same. The webinar will help the companies understand how they most importantly can contribute to the humanitarian effort, and we will assist on any questions you may have.
The Ten Principles have never been more important. They are solidly grounded in UN conventions and can, in crisis situations, help companies strengthen conflict-reducing and peacekeeping efforts.
“We must extend solidarity to everyone fleeing conflict or persecution without any discrimination based on race, religion or ethnicity.” – UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres.
