About the campaign

The title of the 2019 SDG Pioneer was awarded to a young professional (aged 35 or under) committed to advancing the UN Sustainable Development Goals from one of our member companies.

The national campaign is part of the UN Global Compact’s annual SDG Pioneers initiative which recognizes 10 global SDG Pioneers. This year the campaign is aimed at young professionals, and the winner of the Danish local campaign will have the opportunity to be among the 10 global SDG Pioneers to be recognized during the 2019 UN General Assembly in September in New York.

Member companies of Global Compact Network Denmark have had the chance to nominate candidates until April 15, 2019. An external committee will select the winner in the beginning of May 2019.

Purpose

In the spirit of giving young people a voice in building a sustainable future, the 2019 SDG Pioneers campaign will highlight next-generation leaders’ actions to contribute to tackling the world’s most pressing problems in their professions.

The campaign’s purpose is to highlight young people’s potential to contribute to a more sustainable world through their professional career and to drum up interest in the Global Goals and how the UN Global Compact is empowering businesses to advance them.

The campaign will also give our members the chance to highlight their work with sustainable development and young talent.
